Dr. Schoggins joined the Center for the Study of Hepatitis C in October 2007. He was awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Service Award in March 2008 and is currently investigating the antiviral potential of interferon-stimulated genes during infection by HCV and other viruses. Dr. Schoggins is also a recipient of the NIH Loan Repayment Program in Clinical Research. The emphasis of this clinically-oriented study is the interplay of type I and III interferons in HCV infection resolution.
