The microtubule cytoskeleton of an actively migrating neuron. Purified cerebellar granule neurons were labeled with Ven--tubulin and cultured with cerebellar glia. The perinuclear cage of microtubules undergoes complex architectural rearrangements as the soma progressively migrates along the glial fiber. Images from this sequence were used in Fig. 1b. Total elapsed time was 45 min.
