The Relationship Between Vitamin D and Cholesterol

More than 30% of Americans are considered to have inadequate Vitamin D levels. Low Vitamin D levels are associated with poorer health, though there is little evidence that Vitamin D supplements are beneficial. In the Breslow laboratory, Dr. Manish Ponda, as the principal investigator of a randomized, placebo-controlled trial, is investigating the effect of Vitamin D supplements on cholesterol levels. This trial is supported by The Rockefeller University Hospital's Center for Clinical and Translational Science.
