Eag1

Structure of Eag1

This is the structure of the voltage-gated potassium channel Eag1 bound to the channel inhibitor calmodulin (CaM). Each domain is colored as indicated and the cell membrane is shown as grey lines. In the left panel, one subunit is represented as a cartoon and the remaining subunits are shown in surface representation. In the right panel, transmembrane domains are represented as a cartoon and the intracellular domains are represented as a surface. The structure provided important insights into the mechanisms of voltage-dependent gating and CaM inhibition in Eag1. These insights will help to understand the role of Eag1 role in promoting tumor growth and the structure will be used as a template for the design of Eag1 modulators that may be used as anti-cancer therapeutics.Eag1 Structure
