Patricia Holst, Ph.D.

Dr. Holst earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Copenhagen; her thesis work involved structure/function studies of insulin and insulin analogues. Her background also includes research in such diverse areas as bone physiology and metabolism, viral etiology of Paget's disease, as well as DNA replication, immunology, and cell biology. She is a co-inventor on several patents relating to methods of isolating and characterizing hepatic precursor cells and the use of these cells for research or therapeutic purposes. Dr. Holst joined the Center for the Study of Hepatitis C in 2000 as Operations Manager and Administrative Manager. She was instrumental in establishing the laboratories for the basic science group at the Rockefeller University. She continues to work as a consultant for the Laboratory of Virology and Infectious Disease and for the Center for the Study of Hepatitis C.
