Granule Neuron Parallel Fiber Extension and Migration in Vivo
Coronal slices of P8 cerebellum were infected either with a pLIA retrovirus containing Egfp. Thirty-six to 72 hr later, parallel fibers were visualized by confocal microscopy. EGFP-labeled granule neurons extend long T-shaped parallel fiber axons, and the cell soma extends a leading process as it migrates along Bergmann glial fibers. 3-D animation generated with Voxelview software.
